My friend was trying to upgrade his cpu and for some odd reason it wouldn't sent a video signal anymore. I know he installed the CPU properly and all. We've tried using different AGP and PCI video cards, still no video came up. I hear the hard drive booting up however. The power comes on and the hard drives is booting from what I can hear. We swapped out the ram and disconnected everything but the video, ram, and cpu &hsf and still nothing works. Does anybody know what happened and how he can fix this, or does his computer need an RMA?

if you put the old chip back in does it work? If it doesn't I would say that you have a case of static shock damage. Also have you tried a different monitor?

Try running the CPU at stock speed. Reset your BIOS.

Removing the cmos battery didn't do anything, but I will try tomorrow moving changing his bios jumper.
