Upgrade and Windows XP Problems EDIT SOLVED

EDIT: NVM. I found out that your supposed to uninstall everything related to the mobo/cpu before you upgrade. Here is an anandtech faq page about the subject. There are also more links here about the same thing.

Just upgraded my brother's computer with a new motherboard, ram, and cpu. When I powered it up, it got to where windows usually loads and then restarted. I tried to do a repair for windows from the cd but after the reboot it flashes an error message very quickly and then reboots again and repeates this cycle. I get a normal post beep on bootup so I dont think it is hardware related. CPU and exaust fans are spinning.

The old cpu/mobo/ram was a Intel p4 2.4 ghz, a p4pe mobo, and kingston value ram.

The new setup is a DFI Lanparty UT NF3-250, Athlon 64 3000+, and Corsair XMS PC3200.

There are 4 hard drives and 1 cd-rom. The cd-rom and 3 drives are on the regular ide channels and the 4th drive is on a PCI ide card. Windows Xp is installed on the E: drive but was recognized in the install/repair from booting with the xp cd, so I dont think it is on the hard drive connected to the PCI IDE card. Also, to the best of my knowledge, I hooked up the drives in the same order that they were in before.

I didnt do anything special before I installed the new parts. I didnt see the intel application accelerator, or anything intel related in the add/remove programs. Did I need to do somthing special like uninstalling the cpu in device manager?

My brother is dieing to try out his new rig. Can I get a little help? Thanks.
