Hello,

I currently have a GTX 670 that's running 3 Dell 30" surround @ 2560X1600 1440p.

I am seeing performance issues when I play Planetside 2, and some other games as well. I just got Watch Dogs on the PC, I'm concerned I'm going to get crushed.

Would I do better by getting 2 GTX 770 4 GB cards, or a nVidia Ti780? My biggest concern is VRAM, and performance running these monitors right now.

Post your whole PC's specs as well as your budget.

Any single graphics card will be insufficient for running 1600p surround. Most single cards struggle in modern games even on a single 1600p monitor. For a proper upgrade, you're looking at dual 3GB+ graphics cards at the very least.

Here are my specs

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-V DELUXE
3.60 gigahertz Intel Core i7-3770K OC'ed to 4.2
16GB Kingston HyperX Ram
OCZ-VERTEX4 256 SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

3 30" Dell UltraSharp 30 PremierColor Monitor - U3014

I can afford up to about 1200 bucks for video cards right now. (Note- My friend works at PNY so I can get cards at cost)

Well, right now, running 1440p on 3 monitors you may be better served buy buying 2 290X's. And this is coming from someone happily running dual 780's. :)
AMD is currently in the lead with FPS at the extreme resolutions. I quickly looked at the PNY site, and the 780ti cards are retailing for $700, so if you can get them at cost, you could potentially get 2 780ti's within your budget.

3GB of RAM is sufficient for anything right now, as long as you have the right AA enabled. I don't think 770's will push the newer games at resolutions you have at the fps you would find acceptable.

But really, it all depends on your standards. If your budget is 1200 right now and you NEED an upgrade, you would probably see a 20% jump by getting a new 780ti, and save the rest for the 800 series of cards. I believe that Nvidia will show much more focus to extreme resolutions on their next generation, as the UHD monitors and 4K screens become more easily available. But, that's just one mans guess... sorry hope something in there helps.

3 30" panels at 1600p? You are one of those rare people who actually needs something like a pair or more of GTX 780Ti 6GB cards... hopefully you have enough juice. Budget about 300W per card and another 300W for the rest of your system to ensure that you have a comfortable amount of headroom even with a little overclocking, during peak loads.

I was told that the GTX 780ti 6GB wasn't going to be made, where can I get one?

I was also wondering if I should get the GTX 770 4GB to hold me over, so many options here.

A 770 won't be enough of an improvement over your 670 to make the difference that you are looking for.

You'd need 3 x R9 290(x) or 3 x GTX 780ti for that resolution.

I suggest 3 x R9 290(non-X) with 4 GB of RAM.

A GTX 770 4GB will be like 5-10% faster than a GTX 670. Worst upgrade you can possibly do.

I would also agree with the recommendation of three 290s but he said that his friend works for PNY and he gets the cards at cost. I don't think PNY makes AMD any more and if that is the case and if the 780ti that he can get are decently cheaper than a 290 then I guess it's 780ti's

Quite frankly, I'm surprised you haven't seen performance issues already running 3 30" 2560x1600 monitors in surround with a single GTX670. I had 2 GTX670 FTWs running 3 1920x1080 monitors and it was a nice setup. I moved the dual 670s into another rig and now run a single 780 Classified but only have a single 2560 x1440 monitor. I know KaRLiToS has a lot of experience with multiple monitor setups.

Obviously dual 780TIs will be a big step up from a single 670. If you don't OC the gpus your present PSU should be sufficient. If you go with 3 780s or R9 290s you'll also need a new PSU.

I've actually been able to play Planetside 2 fairly okay with the current 3 monitors I have. I am thinking about this new monster ATI card, no matter what I will have to get a new PSU.

The 295X2 is the monster card of the season. And it will run your setup nicely. I still think that we will see much better UHD focused cards out of the next generation though. The 295X2 is a dual gpu card, so it will require crossfire optimized games to be able to function at 100%.
