Updating video drivers

According to the website, I have to install the .NET Framework to use the Catalyst Control Center but I don't like the .NET stuff. Is the Control Center the driver? Don't have this issue with Nvidia cards which lets me change all sorts of stuff like resolution, transparency, etc on its own. Can anyone advise me?

I'd get the .net framework 2.0.

If you just install that then the CCC will load actually pretty quickly opposed to the v1.1 of .net.

You'd most likely have to install .net framwork for something else anyway. Might as well just get it over with.

You only need .net for CCC. And you only need CCC if you dont want to use a more robust alternative program like Ati Tray Tools to adjust the advanced settings. The base driver doesnt need CCC or .net.
