Former Mac user here, and new to Windows. This is probably a no-brainer, but I'm still trying feel my way out of the dark as far as this platform is concerned.

I have a Dell with a GF2 GTS and their 5.32 drivers. Can someone someone point me in the right direction for upgrading to NVIDIA's 6.31? I've downloaded the installer already, but don't fully understand the differences between the two drivers. I believe NVIDIA's drivers have more options and settings, some of which are duplicated in the Display Control Panel. Does anything need to be deleted before running the installer? Will I have to reset any monitor/video settings after?

thanks,
pig

Recommended procedure for updating nvidia drivers is to go to add/remove programs in control panel find the gts drivers in the list and uninstall them then reboot and when it detects the video card point it at the location of the new driver inf. that should be located in whatever folder you unzipped the driver file to. One more thing the det 3 driver have full scene antialiasing on by default at the 2 setting if you are running 1024 resolution you don't really need that turned on I always turn off fsaa. If you are using an exe installer for the drivers then on reboot just let windows install the generic standard diplay adapter driver after this is done run the installer. I personally prefer to use the zip file package and point windows to the inf file
