i just opened my 360 and set it up and i don't have internet running into the 360 so i don't have access to live yet

so is it possible to update my 360 by burning something onto a disk?

I know you can burn the backwards compatibility update to a CD but I don't think you can do any others....like the Fall Dashboard update.

There are certain games that require you to update the firmware, NFS:Carbon being one I believe. If you go out and rent a brand new game it might have the newest update.

Edit: After a quick look I found the November HD-DVD Upgrade available online...

It's a new update, not sure if it's the newest however.

Probably would be easier to just take your 360 to where you can hook it up to the internet at your place and download the update.

yeah i think i'll end up doing that but i'm really only interested in the backwords compatibility stuff and if the other updates aren't essential then i'll probably wait until i wire that room and get on live

thanks for the help guys
