Updating iTunes For Windows...

Trying for the second time now, it doesn't seem to want to go past the point where it says it is Registering Modules. Anyone else have a similar problem?

I had one heck of a time about a couple of weeks ago when updating iTunes. In my case, it turned out to be a Quicktime problem. I found a solution at the Apple support site
which consisted of having to "completely remove iTunes and Quicktime" before I could reinstall.

I had to follow the directions at the above link to completely remove and resinstall iTunes + Quicktime

Tried the tool suggested, but it didn't find anything as I had already done an uninstall for iTunes and QuickTime. I shut down SpyCatcher during a fresh install attempt just in case it was causing trouble, and it still didn't finish. It stopped at the same spot.

The iTunes update has had a numerous amount of bugs since it's release(iTunes 7). My library got jacked up the first time through(had a backup though, like everyone should), and now that I got it working, if I do any kind of 'multitasking', such as...opening IE or Firefox, or browsing My Documents, the music skips. Seems to be a major performance issue since the update. I downloaded an update patch or whatever couple weeks ago, and it was a little better. It stopped screwing up my library for one. I actually had to do some reading on the updates and changes to make sure it wasn't 'user error' and me being dumb. Looking around online though seems to be a common problem.

iTunes works flawlessly on my Mac though.

Quicktime 7 is somewhat buggy .. I had it on my pc and kept gettting "buffer overrun errors"
Went back to Version 6.5.2 ... much better

I found a version from September 2005 on one of my HDs. It installed and is working fine, but the whole update clusterfsck is making me rethink my plans to purchase an iPod.
