Updating 4890 drivers...terrible hang.

So, i was updating ATi (Win7 Pro x64) drivers for no good reason and the "InstallUpdate.exe" app hung. I tried to kill it and it would not die (resource monitor kill would not kill, taskkill would not kill). I had to reboot to get rid of it. Im now very worried about the integrity of ATi drivers. Should i try to update again? What will happen?

uninstall them and reinstall them again... Thats what i would do.

I've seen anti-virus software hang my install before at the "detecting hardware" phase in the installation. Just try to install them again and if it happens in roughly the same way you might want to try looking into something like that.

Yes, disable antivirus and firewall before installing the new version.
