Updated with POHL: Kalbi (Short Ribs) vs. Bulgogi (sliced sirloin)

I marinated some kalbi today and then cooked it. I also bought some store-bought bulgogi which killed my marinade because it was miles better.

However, when I go to korean BBQ buffet with my friends, we just get plates and plates of ribs and maybe only 1 with bulgogi.

I personally like the ribs.

it annoys me when ppl don't eat the tendons that surround the kalbi bone... if cooked right it tastes soooo good
