Okay, so I put in a new ps I borrowed from someone and my computer is fine. I need suggestions for a new ps. Please refer to my specs below to help recommend a new one, I appreciate it!
I all the sudden am having horrible problems with my computer. I have built and worked on computers for years and have never seen this problem. All the sudden, during use or being left alone, the monitor will go black, the power light will blink, signaling its on but not getting a signal. I check the inside of my cae and the fan on my graphics card is no longer running, leading me to assume that the video card is no longer getting power. When this happens, I sometimes lose all pwoer to the keyboard and the usb mouse as well (red optical light no longer is on and power, caps, num lock keys no longer are lit, leading me to assume). If I press the restart button my computer will but back up, fan on video card starts and it runs and randomly shuts off. Also, I don't usualy use stock heatsink and fnas for cpus, but I am using the stock p4 one with my p4 3.0g ghz and it seems to whine. Like it goes from hide speed, to low speed, to high speed to low, its very inconsistant. I usualy use aftermarkt fans that are gigantor and stay a constat 7200 or so. Anyone have any suggestions? Would It be not enough power to the system or a bad mobo? Here are my comp specs:
1 month old p4 3.o6ghz
1 month old intel p4 hyperthreading motherboard with HT enabled and onboard sound and 1000 lan
2 wd 100 gig SE
1 maxtor 160 gig
1 dvd burner
1 stick 512 ddr2700 kingston ram
evga 5900 se 128 meg card
firewire card
350 watt tigerpro PS
Remember, it just all the sudden started happening. Been running liek a champ for awhile now (1 month or so). Please hit as it is very very irritating! Thank you 🙂
