Hi, this is my first deal post here. This is the Plasma Edition Diamondback LE with an ultra-sexy blue led color. $49.95

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications...tails.asp?EdpNo=1334515&Tab=0&NoMapp=0

**DEAD** $42.99 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de...463308?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846

*UPDATE* June 1st: Seems like many online stores are running out of stock. Razer may have problems fullfilling the demand, or they are just taking their time fullfilling preorders from their store first. You can still order from tigerdirect and try your luck. I ordered mid-May from them and they still have not shipped. Im not sure if theyll even get them in or have enough for all their preorders. The fact that the mouse is limited to 5000 may be of some concern.

Difference from a Diamondback red/green is mainly asthetic. It is said to use infrared technology, but im not sure if thats any different. So this is NOT a good deal for anyone upgrading from a regular Diamondback. More details at http://www.razerzone.com

i was going to get this, but went with the logitech MX518 instead. was $42 amazon.com shipped. res and transfer rate like a razor with the comfort of a logy. you can also switch dpi +/- on the fly without drivers. and $10 cheaper, too.

FWIW, www.gogamer.com has the Razer Green for $34.90 ($44.90 - $10 with coupon code GRNRAZER10)

Look on the left hand side under the madness deals. The madness deals say 48 hrs, but lately they've been running a week or more.

I ordered this on Monday, 5/9/05, and called yesterday, 5/12/05, to see if it had shipped. Tiger Direct said it was packaged and shipping that day. Fast forward to today, let's say around 11:00am pst, I get an email from Tiger Direct:

"Dear Valued Customer,
We do apologize for the inconvenience. We are notifying you that our records show that your package should arrive within the next 2 weeks. A backorder order occurred with our vendor, and unfortunately your order was affected by this issue. The item was (1 Razer Plasma Diamondback 1600 DPI Mouse). Again, thank you for your comments.

Sincerely,
Web Response Team"

Got to love Tiger Direct....

The thing is no vendor is supposed to have the Plasma Edition in until sometime late May. On the Razer site, it says shipping in May but does not specify the exact date. So it is no surprise that it would be delayed. So yeah, blame Tiger for screwing up ship date or jumping the gun at listing a date they could not meet. They might've had to guess because Razer was so nonspefic on a date. Still though, i don't think you would get it much sooner if u ordered it straight from the Razer site.

I think it is $60 from the Razer site vs $49 from Tiger Direct. Guess the old Boomslang is gonna have to hold me over...

Oooo. I have an old and broken boomslang. This sounds like a good excuse to upgrade :)

Whoa, thanks for the deal, I've been looking to get razer, but the $50 price tag was a tad high. I actually waited for plasma edition to come out so that the regular green/red may drop in price. But at $35 that's a really good deal. Thanks. EDIT, darn, they don't have any cheap shipping, $6 min.

As mkygod already explained, this mouse is not out yet. Yes, tigerdirect screwed up somewhat by placing the usual "shipped in 2 business days" on the page, but it also placed a "preorder" in the title. You just had to look more carefully.

I forgot to mention that I ordered it from Tiger Direct through AMAZON. (Amazon's shipping is $3.49 vs $9 from the actual Tiger Direct site) The Amazon listing does not indicate preorder. I called Tiger Direct on this and they apologized and said that Amazon generates the listings. I also asked why they told me the item had been packaged and shipped and TD explained that the item is a drop ship item and they have no way of telling if it was shipped (so the rep I talked to was basing his answer on the information from the TD site!). But thanks for pointing out what "mkygod already explained," and I will try to remember to look more carefully next time and maybe next time you can be more helpful. ;)

It says estimated ship date may 24th.

I was going to just order the green one, since it's $10 cheaper for me after tax/shipping but it looks pretty ugly compared to this one.

Any way to turn off the lights though? Seems neat but kinda distracting.

This mouse is good for everything. I have used my Razer Boomslang 2000 for the past 2.5 years and love it.

Performance wise, and price wise its about equal to the Logitech MX518, it uses the same sensor chip. Many people just prefer the Razer mouse shape. I think in the looks dept, its a cut above the old MX design.

The main advantage of the MX mouse is that it has more "useable" buttons available. While technically the Razer is a 7 button mouse, only 5 are usable. This is because it is an ambidextrous mouse, and has 2 buttons on both sides with only 1 side is useable at a time. And also many people complain about the side buttons being hard to press.

how good are these new mices anyways? I'm using the old school 2 button with wheel optical microsoft mouse... crap gets stuck on the edge of the glide pads all the time... also, is it only mines or do all optical mouses suffer from certain coloured mousepads, eg white

old school optical mouses are around 400dpi, so a jump up to 1600 dpi would be pretty dramatic i think. I wasnt aware of colors affecting optical mouses. As long as object is not too reflective or shiny.

Most reviews show that only the MX1000 is greater than the diamondback. I have an MX1000 but I'm going to get a diamondback as a backup wired mouse.

The mx518 and the diamond back are both more accurate and better overall for gaming than the mx1000.
