Updated some Win2k patches... messed up IE

I have ie 6.0.2800.1106. I am not sure if i had a different version before, but since one of my most recent updates, I am having trouble saving pictures off web pages. 90% of the time i get the old "untitled.bmp" saving option. I re-installed ie 6 w/ sp1 and it did not resolve this new issue. Is there a newer version of IE or a grafix update i can install that will solve this, it is very annoying to only be able to save stuff as untitled.bmp, then i have bmps everywhere and i have to convert them back to jpg

Thanks

2 things to try:

1. Go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and scroll to the Security settings. Now check the box next to "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" and click Apply. In most cases this is enough.

2. Go to Tools/Internet Options/General/Temporary Internet Files. The loss of filetype saving is sometimes due to the temporary files HDD cache filling up. The fix is to either delete the existing temporary files or go into the Settings menu and allocate more disk space to the cache.
