**UPDATE**

Made the sale. I sent him another email saying that there was a bus stop right outside my house and that if he took the bus here and bought it, I would drive him back to his apartment.

So the bastard shows up in his own car. With 3 other chinese dudes. They tried to haggle me, but I managed to keep it to $340. I told them someone else already offered me $340 for it. So they took it and went home. I still can't believe he tried to get me to drive it to him to test it when he has his own car.

**END OF UPDATE**

So I am selling a computer on craigslist (Intel E8500 3.16ghz, 4 gigs ram, Geforce 8800 gt 1gb, 1tb drive) for $350.

This chinese guy wants me to drive to his apartment to let him test it. I think he is just a student and doesn't have a car.

But being that he is chinese, I feel like if I go there (its only a 10 minute drive), he will just try to low ball the hell out of me and it will be a complete waste of my time.

Should I go? Maybe i'll just tell him to take a cab to my house. Damn foreigners...

Go, but don't take less than $350...fuckin low ballers :p

That's the thing though. I know the bastard is gonna low ball me, and he is a broke ass foreign student, so he probably can't actually afford the $350 and it's gonna be a complete waste of my time.

Tell him it'll cost him $50 up front...on top of the $350 sale price.

Email #1: "Hi, i have some questions about the gaming computer you placed on Craiglist. Is the Case look plain like that? what operating system is it running on?(window 7) you said u never used it. how do you if it's working, or if it is stable."

Response: "I'm not sure what you are asking regarding the case. It looks just like it does in the picture. It has Windows XP on it. I use it occasionally to play a game demo that comes out, so I know it runs great."

--------------------------------------------------

Email 2: ooh, i see. you have a monitor to test the computer right? cuz i dont have one. can we meet around downtown like Mclanahan, or on school campus like the Hub.

Response: "I have a TV hooked up to it right now since I sold the monitor for it separately. If you are planning on buying it, I can meet you somewhere on campus to give it to you, but if you want to actually turn it on and test it, I would have to ask that you come to my house."

----------------------------------------------

email 3: "can you meet me infront of Mclanahan? my apartment is 3 minutes from there. then we can bring it to my apartment and test it. what do you think?"

-----------------

haven't responded to him yet. So I guess he wants me to bring my TV with me too since he doesn't have a monitor? LOL

Pro-tip: Read his emails with an intense chinese accent for more lulz

Fobby chinese or american born? It's fully ingrained in the former to haggle. It's also ingrained in the latter to haggle but the latter may realize that lowballing someone who delivers your item to you is fucked up.

You're under no obligation. If you feel it'll be a waste of your time then don't bother.

Don't do it. Bring it over so you can test it? Yeah right.

my gf is trying to sell her car. It's an 09 Corolla with less than 10,000 miles. It has pretty much all the options...even a remote starter. This one guy on craigslist said that any one who spends more than 8,000 on that car is an idiot. F'n low ballers.

Tell him to take a cab over to test it, but that if he buys it for $350, you will drive him home with the system.
