I think the wheels look great on a 240sx. You can't really use V spokes on that car with such organic-clean styling.

I absolutely look the love of that car, but w/o doing the SR20DET swap, how is an 240SX stock? For the HP and weight ratings I saw, I don't imagine the car to haul very fast...I'd love to buy a car w/ immediate potential, but it seems that it would take a lot of time and $$$ to really perfect that car...

Or am I completely wrong?

My version stock 240sx goes 0-60 in 8.1 sec and 1/4 in 16's. But also keep in mind that these cars handle like a dream =) The best bang per buck 240sx is the 1991-93 240sx they weigh 200lbs less then mine which puts them at around 2600lbs with driver. Stock motor sucks but has decent torque off the line. Get a redtop SR or blacktop clip which should put you around $2000 without mods. From there you should pull in hi 5's in the 0-60 and low 14's or hi 13's pending how well you can drive. Also when you drop in the SR you lose around 150lbs cuz the engine is aluminum instead of the stock iron block KA. I've seen some sick KA's motors with custom built turbos.

SR is 2.0 liter engine 200hp and 195lbs of torque off the S13 Red and black engines. The S14 ones have 220hp/205lbs and S15 is 250/215
KA is 2.4 liter engine with 155hp and 160lbs of torque. Because of the .4 liter difference people would like to build up that engine.

For me, I want the whole package...for instance, I love the look of a Lude, and there's always stuff to do on a Honda...I don't like the S14 headlights, whereas the 98 headlights (like yours), I think are killer. How much do you think it would be, for a good deal, for a stock starter car? Can you mod the S14 lights to look like the S15s? I love the angular look so much more than the plain round ones...especially when they've been cleared out. crisp.

and if I'm getting generations mixed up, I'm going to sleep, it's 4AM here and I have 10AM class :)

I'm surprised no one has said the joke "why don't you stick a sticker on it to boost 20hp"... usually ANY car brings people that just say "ricer" or the sticker joke.

Thumbs up on your car!

98's are still S14s. They just changed the front fascia. If you want that look, just find a 97 or above (I think thats when they started the new headlights)

If you want, there are kits to make the lights like the S15 from Japan. Yes, they are different :p When you do that sort of thing to the car though, you ahve to buy a new hood and fenders to make it fit. Some people do it when they do a DET swap into the car because they just order a clip and you can take all the parts from that.

Be warned, later model S14s are hard to find. They generally cost ~10k and up for one in good shape. They're awesome cars though :)

Front spoilers are mainly used to deflect the wind...mine is used for protecting my intercooler and piping.

Front spoilers (air dams) keep air from going underneath the car and force it to go over the car. It also creates a high(er) pressure on the hood/windshield and a lower pressure under the car. Note how NASCAR cars have those air dams on the pavement.

I got a '95 240sx Coupe (S14) that will probably be for sale in about six weeks (or less if you're in a hurry). Has 93K miles, runs like a dream. Body is nice, engine is running pretty. Let me know if anyone wants to talk about it.

I love it to death but am headed out of the country after graduation (I have a 2nd car to use in the meantime from my folks).
