Updated NOT new ram: Problem compiling in Java. What could it be?

Hey everyone.

Just got 512 of new kbyte ram today.

I tried installing java: j2sdk1.4.0 and when it is almost complete I get this error:

Title: IKernel.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x771c741a" referenced memory at "0x00163710". The memory could not be "read".
Click ok to terminate the program.

I get a problem when compiling a java program that refers to other classes.

Anyone have any ideas?

i think you mean 512MB of ram and no its not very likely that its the thing causing the problem.

its just sh!tty sun code that is AV'ing. its trying to access memory in its program that it doesnt have allocated.

it could. recently when i installed a new crucial stick my system started crashing a lot. i even reinstalled windows and on the first bootup it crashed. once i removed the stick, it was all better. try it without the new stick and see what happens.

Ameesh:

The brand is KByte..

Sorry for the confusion.

So what can I do to remedy this? I uninstalled then re-installed and rebooted. nothign happened.

I think i will just take it out and try that.

brb.

Ok. took out the new ram and rebooted, then re-installed.

Still doing the same thing.

ANy ideas on how i could change this? Or remedy it?

Yeah like you don't get errors like that with MS software 😉

why would it be "crappy sun code"? Could it not be crappy Installshield code? Could it be he has a corrupt download?
