For $30 difference.... mumble mumble @#$#* @#)*# ummm pardon.... definitely the 5 disc model.

If you use the MasterCard Exclusives $20 off $100 deal you can get the final price down to around $120.99 (after 10.99 shipping). Just use google to search for "Crutchfield coupon". The MC coupon exipres on 2/28.

home video converted to svcd, looks better than vcr.

I would like to know if this plays svcd also.
My poineer dv333 plays svcd wonderfully.. I want 5 disk changer now.

The 5-disc model from Cruthfield does not while the single disc slim model from Amazon does.

Maybe I am wrong but it says on Amazon that the player is being offered by Circuit City. In the past I haven't been able to use Amazon coupons for Circuit city products on their website. Did this change?

yeah its worth the extra to get the 72, it has better chipset inside. For details, just goto any hometheater websites.

Any Macrovision/Region-free hacks for either of these? I haven't found any, but perhaps I don't know all the right places to look.

Look here for the Secrets DVD Player Shootout.. The CP72 is is far superior to the RP62 and on par with the heralded RP82. The only drawback to the CP72 is a QC problem with a short in the component outputs that causes white flashes and lines..

Personally, I went with the XP30 over the CP72 and RP62. It's not a changer, but its build quality and two-inch height is fantastic.
