The super of my building literally thinks I am made of money. It's freaking annoying. I tell him to give me a time and day for me to be home so he can do stuff for me, but he keeps insisting I leave him the keys to my apartment so he can do it himself.

I stood home twice waiting for him and the jackass never showed. Paid out of my pocket for my toilet to be fixed because he didn't show up.

I swear I want to beat the shit out of this guy. I won't get a fridge for months and I don't know the number to the main office. It's documented NOWHERE and isn't very easy to show up at in person.

Imo color shouldn't even be an issue or mentioned. And then you equate going bad with being black.

I'm going to guess it's a start capacitor assembly that may have some kind of relay and other components in it, but it's a fairly wild guess. If it is that then it would cause the compressor to not work or work very erratically.

Yea the compressor would kick on and off literally 4 or 5 times a minute. Now it's pretty damned stable. And much better at cooling.

Basically its reserve power so you can use a standard 15 or 20a 110v circuit when the compressor briefly draws more amps on startup?

I had an A/C heat pump that wasn't starting up and needed a new capacitor. I was suprised at the relatively low amp 220 circuit it needed.
