Many knew that a new PS2 was coming out this month, but you can now preorder it from BB or OutPost for release on June10. It's called the PlayStation 2 Online Pack, and the price is $199 right now. Sorry for everyone that was hoping that it'd be the same as the new lower price for XBox and PS2. :frown: I wasn't able to choose a BB close to me during the order process, so I just decided to skip it, and buy it in the store on the 10th.
YES, this is a hot deal, because this is PS2 + Network Adapter for $199, which saves $20 over buying them separately (plus built-in infrared receiver for remote control, progressive scan DVD, better DVD-R support, and quieter fan)(and minus the iLink/1394/firewire port).

P.S. - a new version of the PS2, called the PSX(wasn't that we called the first PlayStation?) will be coming out early next year that has DVD recorder, TV Tuner and Tivo-like capability, and 120 GBHD. Thanks McDull@Fatwallet.
-----------
Update1 - I went to the grand opening celebration for the new Fry's in San Marcos (actually I went to San Diego store, but they had same deals). I went twice, and the first time in the morning the had the standard PS2, but when I went back in the afternoon, they had a palette of the new PS2's out. Needless to say I bought one (and an XBox since it was only $129)
-----------
Update2 - I bought the new PS2, and it doesn't have the new features. It is JUST an OLD PS2 w/ a network adapter included. It's still an okay deal, bc essentially you're getting the online adapter for $20, but you might as well wait for the new one w/ the new features.
Btw, in case you're not aware, you can just plug a regular computer USB keyboard into the PS2, and it'll let you type online (rather than using the *incredibly* slow virtual kb.
