This really isn't a good idea. By using pliers, you run the chance of pushing one 'side' of the piston down faster than the other side. This may cause it to jam against the piston 'wall' and do damage or possible rip the rubber seal.
Your best bet is to use a large C-Clamp for single piston or a C-clamp and a peice of wood or something else that will cover all of the pistons at once (therefore depressing the pistons all at the same time). A caliper spreader could probably be 'borrowed' from Autozone or Advance Auto (they have a loan-a-tool program). That would be your best bet.
Be carefull not to depress the piston too far. You only want to depress it far enough to clear the pads/rotor. If you depress it too far, it will hit bottom and damage some stuff.
