Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Processor: AMD XP 2100+ (but is recognized as a XP 1500+)
I had an old MB bios version 1001.G that I flashed to 1008 to prepare to upgrade my CPU to a AMD XP 3000+. But I noticed that my MB now recognizes my processor as an AMD 1500+ at 1.29 mhz. Does anybody know why it would not recognize the 2100+ I currently have? In two weeks I'm upgrading to a XP 3000+, so I guess it doesn't matter much unless it won't recognize that --- then I'm in trouble. Any ideas why it did that and how I can get it to recognize the 2100+ I have in there. Thanks in advance for your help.
UPDATE: Found the problem. The FSB speed in the bios was defaulted to 100mhz instead of 133. Changed it and the proper processor and speed was then displayed. Back to normal.
