Yesterday I finally got around to updating my BB software to the current version on tmobile page. I didn't try much of the net or other things as it seemed to work and the websites I couldn't visit before were still unaccessible. This morning though I found out that I couldn't log onto AT forums anymore. I could hit the logon button but nothing would happen and would I pressed enter in the ID/PW blocks it would take me to another ID/PW entry screen which would turn into an infinite loop.

On a 8700g. I believe I was using the 4.01 os before and 4.2 now.

There is probably a later build out there than what T-Mobile has offered. Check out crackberry.com's OS forum. I think that the latest for the 8700g was .192, if you are below that then try an upgrade to .192 to see if it clears up. It seems that every revision fixes bugs in some spots and then creates all new ones. The goal is to find the one that has the least bugs that affect you. ;)

Yes as iamwiz said - see crackberry.com for your os updates - tmobile is just pathetic at updating their software. I have a tmobile pearl and they are over 6 versions behind most carriers! Don't listen to tmobile at all when it comes to data phones - they are all retards. crackberry.com is your friend! Let me know if you need help navigating crackberry to find the correct os

wasn't able to browse that site during work as it crashed/locked my phone. looking at it now but not really clear where to d/l a new os version as the couple links i do find seem to take you to a site for another carrier.

did manage to load up mini opera so i can log back into AT during the day. it looks like a rather nice browser, but for something simple like this forum I wish there was a way to scale it down.

Yes, the OS will technically be released by another carrier. No big deal, just follow the directions. It's quite simple.

It's not something you can download over the net from your phone. You have to download the OS and use the BB desktop software to update the phone.
