If you can read from the previous thread, my roommates and I don't get along anymore, and today at 5am, he starts blasting his speakers and wakes me up. I bang on our adjoining wall several times, and he still won't turn it off until I log onto my computer, and IM him to turn it off.

Anyways, some guy in the other thread told me that we're both children and we should grow up and talk about it... so after I put on my AIM Profile: Stupid people play music loud at 5am, he follows with:

rts65G: suck it bitch u play music loud all the fcking time
NewSc2: not at 5am
65G: ok fine 1 or 2 am is there a difference?
NewSc2: yeah, there's a difference between when people usually sleep
NewSc2: i've stayed up past 2am a lot
NewSc2: but i never play the music loud enough to wake you guys up
NewSc2: and even if i do, i apologize
NewSc2: and i turn it down
ts65G: i turned it down
NewSc2: after i knocked twice
NewSc2: and went online
NewSc2: if i'm online, and i read your profile, and it says you're sleeping
NewSc2: i won't turn the music up
NewSc2: i try to be considerate
65G: no u are not a considerate person
NewSc2: how am i not considerate
NewSc2: i even say hi to you two when you guys come in every day
ts65G: i dont even want to begin
NewSc2: and you guys never even look at me, you guys go into your room, and slam the door
NewSc2: how is that considerate?
rts65G: just forget it
NewSc2: no i want to address this now
NewSc2: like mature adults
NewSc2: i want to hear your side anyways
NewSc2: you guys were pissed about the alcohol and the weed, and so i don't bring it in anymore
NewSc2: what else are you mad about?
(minutes pass)
NewSc2: are you there?
ts65G: nothing dude just dont worry about it
NewSc2: yes i do worry about it
65G: everything is fine
NewSc2: no it's not, i'd appreciate a "sup" back
NewSc2: if i have the courtesy to acqueise your presence
s65G: ok i usually do say hey
NewSc2: no, you don't
NewSc2: you haven't for weeks
NewSc2: believe me, i've noticed
ts65G: ok whatever
NewSc2: stop blowing this aside
NewSc2: it's not even like we don't get along, it's like you guys are trying to be vindictive or something
(5 minutes pass)
NewSc2: are you there?
(another 5 minutes pass)
s65G: ya i got a big document due tomorrow that i have to work on
NewSc2: so you're blowing this off like it's nothing
NewSc2: i have midterms this week, but i want to get to the bottom of this
s65G: no I dont have time for this
s65G signed off at 1:20:51 AM. ((he blocks me))

Oh well I guess, any comments on how to be a dick back? I've basically had it all with him, I'm not going to be polite anymore.

I'll give you the dick advice that I was given by other people who simply didn't want to listen to me when I asked about my roommate:

get laid.

hahaha, sounds like you've thought it out, he hasn't, and he doesn't want to have to, so he ends it.

If it's already been months and the situation is as he says, then I think just letting things go to a simple "nothing, dont worry about it" would be completely pointless. It's obvious at this point he's not going to stop his vindictive behavior. Rather it appears he's out of ammunition when it comes to a "coming to terms" argument and saying "nothing" is his best escape.

Random crappy analogy: your a little country next to another vindictive country, and they start doing missile tests and flybys above you for months now. So you bring it up at the next meeting "you're launching freaking nukes above my country." They say: "don't worry about it." I for one wouldn't say "OK. that sounds good. Hope you like the next shipment of granola bars." It's time to whip out the can of whup a$$.

Come on man!

yeah... this is one guy you don't want to talk to in person... he has a way of getting you more pissed off than you ever have been in person - don't want to get into a physical fight or anything.

You sound like a non-confrontational wuss. You're in the same home and you talk to him with your computer?!? You have to check his IM profile to see if he's sleeping?!?

NewSc2: and you guys never even look at me
NewSc2: what else are you mad about?
NewSc2: believe me, i've noticed
NewSc2: so you're blowing this off like it's nothing

This does sound a lot like a bf/gf argument. I think that you and your roommates need to agree to see other people, just stay friends, and someone needs to make the move to find another place. You already received this advice in the other thread that you linked (did you actually read that thread?). It sounds like it's 2 against 1, even if you aren't the problem you are the minority and you're not going to win. Check the lease, make sure you're not financially obligated, then move out. Make sure that you're the "man" in the next roommate situation you get yourself into.
