Updated ATI drivers, now WoW won't detect widescreen resolutions

Hey all.

I just updated my ATI drivers to Catalyst 7.3 and now, World of Warcraft no longer shows the 16:10 resolutions in the video options. I used to be able to run WoW at 1680x1050. I tried editing the config file in the WoW directory to 1680x1050 and it started the game at 800x600. Any ideas?

Do you have two monitors attached?

I've had this problem after I attached a second monitor. Somehow I fixed it by disconnecting and reconnecting it. This was with an nVidia card though.

I hate to sound like a Blizzard GM...but did you try deleting your WTS and WTF (or whatever they are called...haven't played WoW in ages...) folders? :p

I had this problem because I had my HDTV attached. For some reason the supported resolutions get reset and the TV is set as a secondary monitor, even if it was disabled before.

Well it turns out the ATI drivers detected my one and only monitor as a secondary monitor and WoW didn't like that, though my other games didn't have an issue with it. I changed it to my primary and everything seems to be working fine now. Weird how it saw my monitor as a secondary monitor since that's the only one I have connected.
