I'm probably most concerned about some kind of case for the phone with that extended battery on it. Do they make holsters big enough to carry that?

Let me know how that works out for you. Might be too early to pull the 'retention' card. I'd love to be able to upgrade early myself.

Well, the VZW website says I can upgrade at the $250 price right now for the TB so I don't see why I couldn't do the same in store.

Then you're do for an upgrade now, not 6 months from now. :p

The Verizon website says I'm up for an upgrade in July. So, even if I can somehow convince a CSR to give me contract pricing now, I'll have to deal with the lack of ROMs in the short term.

The wise old man in me says to wait until July before making a decision, no matter how strong the upgrade itch is.

They (B&M store) will not match initial phone price/contract if you got the $250 online price though a corporate discount.

In my case online it stated a 1year for $249 and a 2 year for $219. At the B&M store it was $319 for 1 year and $249 for 2 year. When I told them about the online price/contract was told impossible to match and to order it online. On the flip side you can still get the accessory %age discount in the B&M store.

Some corporate discounts work just in in-store, though. I paid $199 for mine.

i just got this phone yesterday and i stumbled into a screen that shows the % of power being used by various things like display, sense, mail, etc. however I can't find that screen anymore, does anyone know how to get back in there?

Display uses the most power of everything on every smartphone. I suggest disabling auto brightness and setting it to something like 25% or 33%. At first you might be like "It's too dark" but if you turn the screen off and don't look at it for a couple minutes then turn it back on you won't notice it being more dim anymore.

This. Unless outdoors in direct sunlight, screen brightness should be near minimum.

i kept the auto brightness on to see how it would last. hasnt been that bad so far. and i love being able to see the screen in direct sunlight. i find myself in direct sunlight a lot during my workday. it definitely lasts longer if i put it to 25% tho.

No, my 2 years is up in Oct. I am able to upgrade early for the 2 year contracted price instead of full price.

I want to wait, but worry about the 4G being capped and not getting in on unlimited data plan.

Interesting. I will have to stop by after class tonight and look into that. I have a 22% corp discount, but it hasn't had any effect on phone pricing for me in the past.

On my account it's 240 (2 year) - 30 for new every two so 210 total.

Hmmm, 210 I could live with I think to lock in unlimited 4G. Although I could always do Amazon for 180 or whatever it is.

Yeah, I saw the same thing when I logged into the VZW site today. Might be making a visit to the Verizon store next week. Got a lot of OT this pay period.

Just spent the day at work with TB, heavy use, used about 70% of the entended battery, lots of web use, lots of surfing, GPS for an hour.

You did all that for only an hour and the charge on the extended battery dropped from 100% to 30%?

Curious, what is the point of Verizon Navigator? Idiots generating money for Verizon?

Evidently, I just use Google's navigation, the new traffic routing is golden and saves me 20 minutes on my evening commute with 3 different routes, based on traffic...
