No link yet, but Cyanogen tweeted it not too long ago.

Kernel source out.

HTC released the kernel source to the Thunderbolt late last night and already, we’re seeing developers take a crack at overclocking the device. Early reports had a 1.5GHz overclock in the wild, but on a 1.8GHz overclock created by @drod2169, our buddies @TheRealBeesley and @JsinLegacy dropped 2772 and 3047 Quadrant Benchmarks on us. It’s about to get nutty around here.

I will believe it when I see it. At this point I expect to see the Bionic or Samsung Stealth first.

Even the Motorola phones with locked bootloaders have ROMs that are pretty much 100% vanilla Android. I doubt you'd have a problem getting any phone that is coming out into that kind of state.

That's what I understand too. Having an original Droid, I've become very accustomed to vanilla and then doing whatever I want. I'm pretty much the same way when it comes to a PC. Even I get something from HP, the first thing I do is wipe it out and install vanilla Windows from my MSDN subscription.

If you guys have waited this long, wait a little longer to see what's getting announced at CTIA this month.

I predict LTE will get users about 8-10 mbps for the most part, and more on freak downloads. Similar to WiMax in my area. However, it will actually be useful indoors. In fact, it will probably penetrate walls more than any other broadband signal.

I wouldn't say obsessed but there are a lot of threads on this phone, which really isn't all that special IMO.

To each their own though. :D

Also noticed that Wifi hotspot is no charge until May 15th, then it's $20 for 2G. That should be plenty of time to root the phone and get around the extra fee. If this is truly out Thursday, I will be picking one up.

Going to call VZW and see if they'll bump up my upgrade date. I'm a month away so I don't think its all that unreasonable, plus I'm hoping to get in before tiered plans show up.
