If you guys cant see that shitty battery life on a PORTABLE DEVICE is a product flaw, then I dont know what to say. That just boggles my mind.

You are basically admitting to the shortcomings of the android OS and saying you are ok with them.

Right. I see this as the biggest difference between Android user and iPhone users. We freely admit that our OS has flaws...we don't try to pretend that its perfect while iPhone users tend to attack the flaws of other OS's instead of admitting their own flaws.

Try and debate calmly without resorting to constant attacks and rages.

Also it's something that was well known going into the purchase. If a battery won't last a day then that's unacceptable IMO, but anything over a day is fine.

Anandtech's review says the Droid X is the king of battery life for talk time. Does that make your iphone4 suck now?

But battery life 100% depends on how you use your phone and how much you use it.

Exactly. If I am using my phone constantly the whole day at work, then the battery is low at the end of the day. If my phone is not actively being used and just sitting there with the screen off for most of the day, it has a 60-70% charge left when I get home.

Also it's something that was well known going into the purchase. If a battery won't last a day then that's unacceptable IMO, but anything over a day is fine.

Not to mention that it's a non-issue if you aren't a retard.

Sorry that I prefer my phone to not baby me because I actually can be proactive about using it to it's full potential. I know going in that the phone won't last a week on a single charge, but that's a non-issue because I don't need a phone to go more than a day on a single charge. If it needs to though, it can.

Once again, and I know you'll flame "oh your stock phone can't do it!!!1111", a lot of people on here root their phones and install aftermarket programs. One of which (that allows you to OC it as well I might add), allows you to create power profiles that help manage power. I don't need my phone running at 1.1 ghz if the screen is off, or if the battery is below 40%. It's not a hard concept. Yes my phone might not be as stupid-friendly as an iPhone, but my phone does what I need it to. I don't need my phone to be stupid-friendly.

Right, and that factors into what I would call a "day of use". I've been able to make my Evo go several days, and I've been able to suck it dry in hours (streaming audio while using GPS).

Nope, it just makes android more comparable to the iPhone. They have been losing a lot of ground in the battery life category for quite some time. Glad to see they are actually doing something about it.

My exact point.

Ive used GPS on a bike while streaming pandora for a couple hours before on the iphone. It drained like 10 - 20% of the battery life. It didnt suck it dry. That would really, REALLY piss me off.

I guess it doesn't bother me since I'm using it in a car and can just keep it plugged in anyways. It's worth it for that big sexy screen I have :D

So like I said before, you never had an iPhone before 4 right cus the battery life of those wasn't that good at all either?

What is wrong with you? This is all a matter of opinion and you're unable to accept that a lot of people are fine with the batter life of their Android phones. Most people don't consider a normal day of use "shitty battery life".

A product flaw would be if your phone dies after a couple of hours of normal use. Getting a full day of normal use out of your phone is acceptable to just about everyone. Yes, I am OK with my Droid having less battery life than an iPhone, it's a non-issue for me and a lot of people.

I don't understand why it's so hard for some people to understand that not everyone wants the exact same thing in a smart phone.

Apple have pulled all of the videos of competitor products showing attenuation from the /antenna page on apple.com. I smell a cease and desist letter!

Yeah, something tells me they didn't get legal authorization to take videos of competitors products and post them on their site, especially in derogatory fashion. :p

I just purchased an iPhone 4 after using a Nexus One for a month and I can say that both OS' have their pros and cons. This constant fanboy bickering on both sides reminds me of Sega vs. Nintendo or Microsoft vs. Sony.

The only way you could have a perfect smartphone is if you could combine the best features of both. Until then, do your homework and get the phone that best meets your needs and don't feel like you have to make your choice seem better by belittling the choice that works better for somebody else.
