i got my medical records, and the say exactally what i need them to say :-d, that i contracted from a hotel bed :-d and the incubation period lines up perfect. so this is near a lock to get money. next step...send them to the lawyer. and he is writing a demand letter. he said it would be 1-2 months before we hear anything from them...

and yes. the hotel blew me off.
no i didnt "hit it",
no i will not invest it, i am too poor now not to have that money.
and yes, i will go public if they dont settle out of court.

About 2 months ago, i stayed in a hotel for a conference for my college. while at the hotel, i got scabies...and so did a co-worker of mine, who napped in my bed when she was locked out of her room...

anyway. it is totally disgusting, and revolting to even frigging think about, especially i am so inasne about being clean and healthy all the time.

so, anway, after getting a damn inceticide to kill the damn things, that were all over my body. i got really fed up with everything, and i felt that i should be justified in getting some compensation for my physical and emotional pain and suffering. it wsa so bad, that i missed a lot of work and classes becasue of it..and it lasted a damn month..and is still ongoing, but very moderate.

anyway, 2 weeks ago i started calling around to lawyers in baltimore, and i found a good one who wants to take my case. he said i am entitled up to 30,000 dollars. after his cut and expenditures i can expect to get between 15000-20000.

i think that is a good figure for what i went through for over a month. and the lawyer is VERY optimistic about winning this for me. he has done this exact thing before, and won several times.

so WOOT for money, and BOOO for scabies :-d

all in all, it was a very profitable trip to baltimore for me :-d

if i get 15000 i am going to pay off CC debts (2000) get a car (5000) a new computer (3000..yes, it is going to be killer) invest in my own business (anything thats left)

so i am going to be back to square 1 with money :-d)

it is called impossible consequence...since my co-worker and i both got it. and that was the only time we were ever in contact with each other, it had to be the hotel...

this wont even go to court, the insurance of the hotel will settle before it even reached a judges bench, and if they dont, the laywer is going to take it public, and get more money for me :-d

Hate to play devil's advocate, but aren't you counting your chickens a bit too early? And I'm a bit confused, if it is your co-worker, how can that be the only time you were ever in contact with her? Don't you work with the person and see them and come in contact with them?

phycial contact...between the time we were at the hotel, to the times the symptoms developed, i did not see her at all.

 
I hate lawsuits because they are quite frivilous at times. However, your situation really is a bad one from that hotel. I hope you win!! 🙂

Ugh! Scary! I know my health always comes first before I worry about how much I'll get. So I hope the same for you (i.e., that you heal soon).

Good luck with your litigation. I hope you got a competent counsel and the defendant(s) settles out of court. 🙂
 
This lawyer is charging you almost 50%?! You're getting ripped off, 20-30% is what it should be. Negotiate it.
 
What are scabies, and how do you contract them?

What if the hotel's lawyer tries to show that your roommate had them before and you got it from him?
