That is way beyond not cool. I own an '04 GTO, so I'm open to the 'modern look' of the classics but that is over the line. Two think I almost passed on the GTO to see what the charger would look like. I don't care if it is fast, I don't care if it can handle. I don't care if its RWD. It's not a Charger. Its just not. It should be called the 300 Sport or something.

Even if the Brits DO love the "Holden". Especially since the Holden Sport version is being released, which ups the horses. It was on last week's Top Gear.

I realize that. I'm one of the few that believe that the car should have been called the G8 or something. It may not be the perfect style wise, but it has the performance and general image that works in the muscle car persona. The 'charger' does not.

The last 4 door sports car was a Maxima.... I guess you could point at an M5, but its not a muscle car, and doesn't pretend to be one.

I wonder if this car will flop, and Chrysler exec's will point and say, "see the american public doesn't want a RWD car with a high performance V8, kill it."

I was hoping to like it, but if that's it, it's too much like a 300C and 2005 Mustang's bastard child...shame, so many Mopar heads would just jump at the name too.

And how exactly do you know that the Charger won't have "the performance and general image that works in the muscle car persona"? Your GTO is boring as sh!t to look at. It's fast though. But do you know the Charger won't be fast? Do you know how the Charger looks in real life? All anyone has seen of it are these two photos of a magazine page.

And how exactly is a Maxima a sports car when an M5 isn't? Are ou saying a Maxima isn't a muscle car but pretends to be? Or are you saying the Maxima *is* a muscle car?

Yeah, american's hate RWD cars with a V8. That's why all them Mustangs, 300C's, and Corvettes are just collecting dust on the lot huh?

That's where you err...we here on ATOT have the perfect opinion on everything, but it does not have to be backed up by any substancial real life examples.

wow dodge needs to grab some new designers by the horns instead of regurgitating the same bland styling in every god damn model.

Yeah, boring to look at from the outside. fvckin awesome from the inside. Goes like nobody's business too. There are more pics of the charger on the web. More pics that show it looks like a 4 door Dodge. Meaning it looks like all the others Dodges that look like each other.

The point is that the same reasons that the GTO hasn't sold well are the same reasons that the Chrager shouldn't. EXCEPT that Chrylser has given the American public more of a reason to hate the car based on its name. A Charger doesn't have 4 doors. Period. Imagine if the new GTO had 4 doors....

The point is that neither are Muscle cars. The M5 is a luxery car with a sport package. Fast as hell, but not a drag car like a GTO, Charger, Mustang or 'vette. The Max is mostly a pointless reference.

Mustangs and Corvettes are sports cars in a different classs than the 300c. The 300c maybe fast, but so are a few other cars, like maybe the Merc Marauder that Ford has killed. The '90s Imapla too. Those are two prime examples of 4 doors cars that were _EXCELLENT_ cars and didn't hold the public's interest. What makes the new Charger anything different?

And the GTO is flying off the lots today with price ranges in the $24K range. Make a 300c, a mustang, or a 'vette hit $24K new with 350hp/365ft-lbs. I'd like to see it.

Its looks odd in that first angled pic but I like how it looks in the rest. Just wish they would have called it a magnum sedan instead.

I'll buy one. To hell with what you all think! :D

Of course, I've never owned a coupe in my life and don't think I'll ever want to (maybe after retirement). My friends joke that I'm 28 going on 50 anyway.

Ugly. That is one of the ugliest front ends I've seen from dodge/chrysler.
