Update2: I got an Interview - I got the job!!!

Well after hearing I was release last Monday, I find out that a local vendor wants to interview me this next Thursday. I haven't even sent out one resume yet.

Things are looking up.

Job Title: Technical Support Leader

Automotive Related Duties: Support Technical hotline when normal diagnostics fail, assess related damage claims, approve special requests, and maintain a positive work environment for Technical Support Representatives.

Web/Software Duties: Support Company Intranet/Internet web site, convert printing software from SGML to XML, distribute database information via the web, and special project leader.

Update: Well I just got back from the interview and here is how it went.

Me: Hello
HR Director: Hello, your early. (As he looks at his watch)
HR : Sit down (reads my resume)
HR : What is you salary requirements?
Me: X dollars an hour or Y a year.
HR: How about we start you at Y+13K?
Me: (jaw on floor and grinning ear to ear)
HR: When can you start?
Me: Any time after the 15th of June.
HR: Good, review these documents and I will be calling you with a start date.
Me: (gets up to leave walking a foot off the ground)

This went way better that I thought, he even suggested I take French so I can work with some of there Canadian customers. (I used to speak it when my grandfather was alive, several years ago)

Definitely going to have a :beer: tonight.

No vacation, I'm staying at my current job until the 15th to train my replacements and finish some record retention database work.

But that does mean no NEW projects to develop or support.

Truly, one of the sweetest times in life. Between jobs but the next one is a sure thing in a month or so.... I had a few weeks like that early in 2002... none of the bad feelings that go with being un-employed.
