So this error message popped up:

Update your DNS Settings
The host google.com cannot be resolved because you are not authorized to use the name servers you have configured.
Please contact your Network Administrator or Internet Service Provider for assistance.

So I checked my DNS settings and they seem to be good. Some websites such as this forum show up but other websites like google, imgur, and msnbc don't. What could be going on?

What DNS servers are you using?

Post results from ipconfig /all..

You can try changing your DNS servers and try again. May be your ISP's problem if you're using their servers.

Open DNS: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
Google DNS: 8.8.4.4

Try those..

Dns 208.201.224.11, 208.201.224.33

Guess something is funky with Comcast's DNS servers.

I'll use google's DNS for now:

I always thought DNS servers were all or none. I can get half the websites to work but other half doesn't.

Your DNS server has been having problems. Change to a free one like suggested above or use the free one I use.

I use Verizon/Level Three.
Any combination of 4.2.2.1 thru 4.2.2.6

I had an issue with OpenDNS today, it was blocking anandtech. The only sites I was blocking with OpenDNS was some tracker/ad sites like quantserve and scorecardresearch. I turned off the blocking for quantserve and anandtech came up again. Whatever.
