***update***you know its a bad day in retail when your first customer gets arrested in front of you

So this guy comes in first thing this morning wanting to buy an lcd hd tv...no big deal. I sell it to him and proceed to try to ring him up for it. This is where it gets weird. The guy, who is obviously only about 21 and a white guy, writes me out a check. I ask for ID being the good employee that I am, and he hands me a 42 year old asian guy's drivers license. I actually had to look at the kid again just to make sure that I hadnt forgetten what he looked like. So I pretend like I am going to take the check, but take it over to my manager and tell him whats going on. He calls the cops and we keep him busy til they get there. When the cops came in the door the guy gave me a look like I had just killed his dog. So anyways, the cops arrest him right there in the middle of the store, and find a crack pipe on him!!!

So they drag him out to the car and put him in the back seat. My boss and I went out there to give our statements and the guy is in the backseat swearing up a storm. He was threatening both my boss and me. So we both kind of looked at each other and my boss said, "Damn it sure it beautiful out today, sure would be a sh!tty day to go to jail"

So yeah, that had to be the most messed up thing to happen to me at work in a long time.

they arrested one that I know of for sure. You have to understand that these guys were so cracked out that one of them actually ran into a brick pillar just trying to walk down the sidewalk...not run...just walking

btw none of those people were more than 21 or so

the way it works where I am is that if you take a bad check you get charged back what you made off the sale. Plus I actually care about things like this, I take it personal if you try to steal from me. Which is what this guy was trying to do. Its good people like you that keep the cost of things nice and high.

the boss yelled at me for not getting the warranty on a bad check...then he told me that I could make my own schedule for the next couple days as a reward. We dont get cash for catching bad checks. If it had been a phony credit deal, citibank gives us $150 cash, and if we catch an employee stealing is $500

dont know...We tried getting the guy's number from information but it must have been unlisted. I havent heard of any beatings or murders lately...there have been a ton of burglaries in the area, maybe this guy was part of it.
