whenever I try to load certain levels on halo i get "disc unreadable" error...the xbox and game are from when xbox first came out

when i look at the disc i seems pretty clean, but if you have any cleaning suggestions that would be good

not sure if its related, but playing otny hawk it got stuck saving once also...but that only happened once

if its not cleaning, is there a way to get a new halo without paying for a brand new one?

update:

happens with tony hawk also? any way to clean the xbox?

Wipe the disc from the center (the hole) straight outwards toward the edge. If that doesn't work wash it with soap and water and use a nonabrasive cloth to dry it off.

Is that the only 2 games you have to try? You could get a can of compressed air and open the drive and start blowing away.

You can try to replace the optical drive on the xbox. I saw some on ebay.

I've had a couple of mis-saves...once in Ghost Recon and once in KOTOR....luckily I had backup saves....just seemed to happen randomly

It's common when a drive begins to fail for it to quit reading one disk while all the others work well for a while. You should try cleaning the laser like someone else suggested though.

This place needs double post protection.

It had DP protection - it worked but it caused problems when the original post wouldn't go through

All you had to do was use your browser back button, refresh to see if your post went through, and if it didn't, click on reply and do your post again. I thought it worked pretty good IMHO.

why don't they just stop people posting more than say 1 message in 15 seconds

surely that would take care of more double posts?

Zuni comments on double posting here

He stated there was problems with the old one. They removed it for the new system but there is a DP feature in place that isn't implemented *yet*
