its an amazing camera. better than any nikon coolpix i've ever used. the 7x optical alone is worth it, as digital zoom is worthless (looks better to blow it up in photoshop). i've shot everything from 7 second night shots to soccer games in full sunlight without any problems.
can be had for about $650 off pricegrabber. IMO the best you can get without making the jump to a digital SLR body.
