UPDATE! What is the best way to complain about my American Airlines flight?

I just got married, and my brother gave me enough FF miles to fly first class to Hawaii from Chicago on American airlines. On the way there, the TV projecter was broken, so no TV on the way there. On the way back, the audio was screwed up for our seats, so basically no TV on the way back. What would be the best way to complain? It seems like AA would like to have you complain through email, but it seems like snail mail or a phone call would work better?

-Thanks

EDIT: Update below!

You got free first class airfare as a gift and you are complaining that the TV didn't work?

😕

Make the call if you really feel put out by this.

Hey, It's first class. I would think for the $3000 it would cost someone for the trip, that the TV's should should work. It's more the principle of the thing. Also, the food sucks in first class just as much as the coach seats...

A well crafted snail mail letter. Follow up with a phone call, if you are sending it to someone or some department, specifically.

They are probably just counting on most people not doing anything about it, so someone needs to call them out.

Hmm...the food has always been better (when they actually serve it) in first than in coach whenever I fly AA.

I agree - I'd complain too especially if 1st class seats were paid for. I'd write a letter as well as an email actually. Those tickets couldn't have been cheap (whether you personally paid for it or not).

We paid $740 each seat for AA economy to Hawaii. I can't imagine how much 1st class was...

He was given the miles by his brother.

Actually buying a 1st class ticket is highway robbery with a side of anal rape.

Yah I just caught that... miles instead of money. Still, he should complain about 1st class being terrible service in general. I just looked up 1st class ticket pricing from chicago to maui and it costs $4400 per person !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it truely was crappy all around, then by all means he should complain.

Only $4,400? They must be having a sale.

write a real letter and you'll probably get some discount coupons to use the next time you buy a ticket

I'd think that miles would hold more of a standpoint. I mean, yeah, you didn't pay anything for THAT ticket, but how much money did you have to pay to GET the ticket....

Write snail mail and use company letterhead if possible. Although, I personally wouldn't find the tv being out to be worthy of my time to complain...

I wrote a snail mail letter to customer service, along with the details of my trip. They just sent me an apology letter and included two $200 flight vouchers! American Airlines just made my day 🙂
