UPDATE:
So for West Coast folk, I'm gonna be on tonight if your local ABC channel is the one airing Jeopardy.
It's apparently folks in San Diego and Santa Barbara get Jeopardy on NBC so it aired last night.
Witness the blaze of glory that is my performance 🙂
Hopefully I'll capture a good copy and encode the whole thing to serve up somewhere soon.
CLIP:
Final Jeopardy Clip - 11MB, Divx 5.0
(Thanks to Yllus for encoding/capturing and Ciber for hosting)
How I lost on Jeopardy, the extended version:
3rd place gets $1000. So in if I had wagered nothing I would have gotten $2000. But I chose wager everything in hopes of glory.
I don't see a dime of prize money till like March/April.
I auditioned previously for College Jeopardy but wasn't selected.
The test composed of 50 questions of close to the $1200-$2000 variety seen on the show. I know for sure I missed at least 4-5 answers.
I think one needs to get 40+ correct to qualify. Immediately after test was an interview to play test and talk to the coordinators.
BTW, you get to keep the Jeopardy pen just for taking the test.
Of course, I'm not allow to appear on any other gameshows for like a year.
I got the call to play in August and went in to tape an episode in September but I was held-back because they wanted to use all the non-locals (as in folk not from SoCal). I then went in again 2 weeks later and taped my episode. The whole process involved bringing in 3 changes of clothes. (note: if I had won for 4 days in row I would have probably worn the same clothes on at least a couple shows)
Trash talking as minimal. 🙂 They also gave us lunch on the Sony Picture Studios lot. The stage is right next to where they tape Wheel of Fortune.
Of course I got to invite several guests to watch. And each taping takes about 30 minutes, close to live air time length.
Most of the time spent in the greenroom was to go over the interview stories and what is called the Hometown Howdy (which is the short commercial ad mostly seen by smaller markets).
-(Sorry, no Cliffnotes)-
