new '07 Velocity Yellow Corvette coupe.
I haven't seen the car yet but I am going to pick it up this Saturday. Would love to go get it sooner but I'm slammed with work this week. Did the whole deal over the phone with the Internet sales manager at the local dealership. Less than 5 minutes of negotiation and deal was made. Simplest car purchase yet.
I broke 3 of my personal rules regard to car buying.
1. Never buy new personal vehicle. Only purchase business vehicle new for tax deduction.
2. Never pay more than 40k for a car.
3. Never finance personal vehicle or toy purchase.
My justification was:
1&2. I looked at lot of used Corvettes from C5 Z06 to used C6 the past 6 months. Depreciation on vettes are really low and not really worth buying used since you can get such a good deal on new C6.
3. I wouldn't have financed it normally but GM is running 0% for 36 months financing right now on Corvettes until Feb 20. I can't pass up 0% and that's 4k in free money right there.
I was trying to wait on '08 model with the new LS3 engine and added HP but the 0% deal was too tempting. The only other time I remember GM doing the 0% deal for Corvette was back in 2004 when they were trying to clear C5 stock for the upcoming C6.
