That's a lot of pent-up demand for a media-friendly BB, even in this economy. If I had to bet, I'd say $250 with a two-year contract.

That would be nuts, they need something to recoup the subs they loss to the iPhone, and your price won't do it. Of all the people who switch carriers to get the iPhone, 47% came from Vz. That my friend, is huge. They can be stupid again if they wish. They had first dibs on the iPhone, and passed. They have been regretting it ever since.

Is this really true? Verizon is CDMA, the iPhone is GSM and is selling well in Europe. If the iPhone had been released on Verizon then it would have been CDMA, they would have needed two versions to sell it out in quantity outside of the US. I would think that the Verizon would have had to ante up a lot of concessions to have been in the running for the iPhone because their network isn't compatible with most of the rest of the western world.

Do you have any stats on that?
They had an industry leading Churn of ~1.1% in Q2. For postpaid I believe it was 0.8%

50% of an industry leading number is quite small nonetheless.

The 3G iPhone didn't come out until July, and is now the second best selling cell phone in the USA, after the Razr, another phone Verizon dropped the ball on.

I read that Apple just passed the 10 mil mark of 3G phones made. We won't know how much of that was US sales until Tuesday, when Apple reports their quarterly results.

You be sure to post VZ's churn when they give there quarterly results later this month. I'll be waiting to see if you still think it's small then.:p

Here are your stats.

I didn't think Verizon used sim cards. Hmmm, maybe these will get unlocked/hacked for other carriers and I won't have to switch.
The SIM card is for using outside the US. This is a world phone like the 8830.

Sprint ACE has this too

There are two versions of the Storm apparently:

Blackberry 9500 (GSM only)

VZW Blackberry Storm is 9530 (CDMA + GSM).

Hmmm... and I'd guess $250 w/ 2 yr contract. Maybe even $350

Right in line with my guess as well. Muadib thinks they'll go lower but I highly doubt it.

Vodafone pricing is £35 a/mo and the device is FREE! WMK!

Seriously? Damn these American companies. If I was able to get that phone free, I'd switch carriers in an instant. Hell, even it was $100 I'd switch.

I'd be surprised. ATT is offering another new BB (the Bold) at $300 with 2 year contract. The bold is a nice device, but the storm has a lot more going for it. If they go with the same pricing strategies I'm leaning towards $350.
