Update: Think I can return my Khypermedia coaster maker?

Officemax returned my full purchase price seeing that I had the device, the original recept and the original upc code from the box. There was a second of debate and one phone call to the manager but all went well. I picked up the liteon DVD CDR combo from CC after I left. Thanks for your opinions!!



I couldn't resist the office max rebate last weekend. I got the 52x khypermedia CDR thinking it would be a nice, inexpensive addition to my office rig. Using xp pro and Nero 6.3 I haven't been able to achieve speeds over 40x and I can do about 1 burn per windows reboot. The second burn normally locks up or won't finish. I've heard that these are crappy (after I bought it) and I haven't applied for the rebate you.

You think OM will take this unit back if I don't have the box but I do have the upc and the original sales receipt?

No returns w/o UPC. It sounds like you have a different problem than the burner though

Oh yes, I got the original ups from the box. It's the box that I threw away. Being the rebate madman that I am, I had already cut out the upc. In light of that, you think I got a shot?

Buy a new one and then return your broken one in the new box? If the OM CSRs are nice, they will probably suggest doing that.
