Edit: Nevermind.

I realize you are a U of M student or graduate by your signature so my comments and/or humor would be wasted on you.

Wrong, a battery that is shorted internally can cause enough draw on a charging system to lower the vehicle's voltage to less then 8 volts, which is the minimum voltage to keeping an engine running.

Indeed. Had one that was so fubared that the car would run until the headlights were turned on, then it would die 🙂

Actually I had offers from both schools but my family has a history with State, farmers, so I went there. Now I live near Ann Arbor and I have a few friends that still live there. Personally I don't have a beef with either school but I know how uptight some U of M graduates can be and I just wanted to have a little fun. 😉

He certainly helped you prove your point.

I've been putting Die Hard Gold's in the stang, and I got almost 7 years on my last one, and this one is still going. I am using a larger one meant for a F-350 truck, but I think when I need another I'm going to try a Optima next...

Update:
Well all of you that thought I was wrong to joking blame Ford for my non-Ford battery failing after exceeding it's warranty limits can now laugh at me. My great little Ford Escort GT is down with a failed clutch slave cylinder after 220K miles of faithful service. 🙁
