Says a guy with logo of a California company product as his avatar.
Wait, so the threat of violence from the offended party is enough to quash free speech?
Don't "liberals" claim that in coming out as homosexual, a person puts their very life in their hands and risks being killed by intolerant bigots?
Seems to me then that a shirt proclaiming one's homosexuality raises the possibility of violence against the student and the shirt can be banned.
Still doesn't change the fact that California bans damn near everything that someone may find objectionable.

You'd think so, but no. The American flag has been ruled by an American court and upheld by an American appellate court as a racist attack on other students which logically can only be answered with violence. She could however wear her "Nobody knows I'm a lesbian" t-shirt on the front with a Mexican flag on the back in an American school today.Well too bad, thanks to phony liberals that have forgotten that when you pick and choose the speech you want to defend it can blowback on you.
All you need is a little violence or the perceived threat of, and poof there goes your first amendment rights in school.
Maybe if the ACLU today fought for the first amendment as diligently as in Skokie were the authorities where trying to limit free speech under the perceived threat of violence,

instead of being banned you can wear your "Nobody knows I'm a lesbian" t-shirt on the front with a US flag on the back in school today.
Court: School was within its rights to ban U.S. flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo
Agreed.i'm curious as to the mental gymnastics required to defend that 'free speech', but not this one.

Morally I agree. Practically however I disagree because the progressives are advancing their agenda and American social conservatives are everywhere in retreat. I can't think of a single American social conservative position that isn't being dismantled. ('Course, I can't think of a single American social conservative position that isn't in need of being dismantled either . . .)No gymnastics required, only "Left good, right bad."
The authoritarian left are no different than the radical right wingers they hate. They just have different targets for their scorn.
Oops, just thought of one that is actually in advance - teaching intelligent design along side (or even in place of) evolution. (Or as we call it in the church, evilution - don't make me say a prayer against you!)

And some people still try to pretend that proggies aren't dangerous if unopposed.
Agreed.

You have a brain defective notion of what a progressive is. The authoritarian left is not progressive. There is nothing progressive about authoritarianism. There is nothing liberal about it either. It's just a different expression of the conservative brain defect motivated by hate and fear. It's just another face of madness.
Weird that students at American high schools are more worried about making political statements than learning. Perhaps that explains why America is no longer in the top 10 and will soon fall from the top 20 education systems in the world. Our race towards mediocrity continues unabated....

me thinks the shirt I used to wear in HS that said "I committed Suicide" would not fly in that place
Interesting. So Julie Bindel - the feminist writer for a UK paper who recently stated that all men should be put into camps and hopes that heterosexuality is eliminated - is actually a conservative?
I'd imagine that a "conservative" writer at a national publication who proposed putting all women in camps and hoping that homosexuality was eliminated would be quickly fired. Yet Julie Bindel remains happily employed.
Why the different handling of "conservative" brain defects? Are there different types of "conservative" brain defects? Which kind of CBD do "liberals" suffer from? And why is the treatment of their illness different?
She writes for the Guardian and has a problem with transsexuals.I know nothing about the person you named, but if she actually is as you described, that is a view that would make a textbook example of fear and hate, and imply the presence of a conservative wired brain

Please... Someone may find your post offensive.LMAO!!!! As if California isn't ate with the same PC horse shit.
If the University of California cannot abide heterodox speech and ideas indeed, if they feel so insecure about their own preferred narratives that they cannot successfully defend them in open debate why should California spend billions of dollars keeping their doors open? If these universities cannot do anything more than indoctrinate people on their narrow and fragile worldview rather than educate people through true freedom of expression and access, then the UC Board of Regents are signing what should be the death warrant of their ideological camps. Let the regents find work in the private sector, and see how far they get with demanding the right not to be offended.
