Update-- Ruptured disc - had a prob last night, advice needed

I've had a ruptured disc for a while now, the doctors at the er found it when i had a cat scan for a kidney stone.. I got around to getting it checked out a couple of weeks ago, and have an appointment set up with a neurosurgeon for next Thursday.. Well, all was going ok except the normal back pain, but last night I was working on my truck, taking the dash out to replace the heater core, and I had bent over several times, then one time I bent over and felt a pop in my back and felt as if I couldnt get back up, pretty painful, I managed to get back up but it popped again in the process. Pretty excruciating pain the rest of the night and today, it kept me out of work today as well.. It's felt like needles are going through my right leg, and my foot went numb the rest of the night and its barely usable today..Still a lot of pain in my leg and back and can't bend over now..
What should I do? Stick it out till next Thurs or go to the er agian or what?

Called the neurosurgeon, was told to go to the ER to get rechecked... ER tells me that it's inflamed, that it was likely trying to heal itself and I disturbed it.. Few hours later, I walk out with prescriptions for pain meds and now here I am laying down again..
Fun fun. Thanks for the advice.
Forgot about the edit option for messages, so there's a repeat of this at the bottom of the thread.

I don't know what the best advice would be but myself I'd stick it out if possible. If numbness and excruciating pain continued, I don't think I'd be able to stick it out.

I don't think you want to be driving and have your right foot go numb tho.

Dude, you need to go to the ER right away and get another scan. It sounds like it could have got a lot worse with nerve compression. If the nerve stays compressed too long, you could have permanent damage. Go to the ER now.

MD.

You can't go to work but you can post on the internet? Go see a doctor tomorrow.

The work i do involves a lot of bending over, climbing ladders, etc.. (Installing security systems)

Alright, i was about to fall asleep, i'll go first thing in the am..couldn't do much more damage by waiting to then... thanks for the advice ill let yall know what happens..

Get this fixed immediately - my mother just ignored it, and after two back surgeries to fix the disc's, they going to remove the disc's tomorrow and just fuse her vertebrae.

Go to the doctor. Pain is bad, numbness is worse. Do you want to be lame for life because you tried to stick it out?
