I had my new burner working fine and then the other day I turned on my comp and it is not listed anymore. At first I thought it might be fried, but in Dos I can use and boot from the CD drive.....

I the hardware driver section it lists that is sees the Liteon, but there is a problem ... I tried several uninstalls of the driver and I check all the cable connections and they seem find ???

Any thoughts? I have Nero. CDRwin, and CloneCD installed???

UPDATE -- Problem SOLVED !!!! AnandTech Forum MEMBERS RULE!!!!!
I never would have doen this on my own!!!! Thanks everyone who helped

go to BIOS and see what's up. make sure the comp can see it there or else it won't be able to see it in win

Actually bios sees it just fine...... I can even boot from it... but nothing in XP , well actually XP identifies it as a liteon, but then there is an exclamation mark next to it. And I have uninstalled 3 times and it still is not installing it at all?
....... I had this problem once in 98.
