Update problem

I am having problems updating my GeForce FX 5500. Everytime I update it gives me this message: The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.

Also, the FX 5500 is somehow not being detected on this piece, it is only running my intergrated vid card (which came with this computer) Nowhere to be found in device manager under display adapters.

I have already:
Booted in safe mod and ran Driver Cleaner
Updated driver to 93.71 & 91.31

HP PC model: 563w

Any help is appreciated.

Did it work before or are you just installing the card? My first guess is that you might have to disable the onboard video in the BIOS for the system to recognize the FX 5500.

Welcome to AT forums 🙂

Worked before. Should've stated that earlier, it's already disabled.

Thanks for the welcome. 🙂

hmmm... ok, I'm a bit confused...

Maybe you will have to clarify a bit more. If the on board video is disabled and the FX 5500 isn't detected by the system, how are you seeing what's going on? You shouldn't have any video output at all.

I know you are going to hate me for asking this, but did you download the right driver? Try a different link than the one you are using to download the driver because I have come across corrupted uploaded drivers. Also, try installing the drivers through device manager by going to Properties, then click on the driver tab. Finally, if that doesn't work, install the drivers manually, there are some guides on the internet that can show you how to do this.

Good luck,
