Appropriate, IMO.
Indiana woman Angela Voelkert wanted a little dirt on her husband as she prepared for a messy divorce, so she posed online as a teen to trick him into dishing some damaging details, the New York Post reported Thursday. And what she learned was astounding -- he was plotting to kill her and run off with their kids, law-enforcement authorities believe.
Voelkert, 29, created a fake profile of a teen named Jessica Studebaker last month, complete with a picture of an anonymous teenybopper, and became Facebook friends with her gullible hubby, David, 38.
The identity of the pictured girl, who has no involvement with the couple, is not known, nor is it clear where Angela Voelkert obtained the photo.
David Voelkert soon allegedly confessed to his new friend that he had secretly placed a GPS tracking device in his wife's van and was using it to locate her when he was allegedly ready to have her whacked.

He even allegedly asked the "girl" to find a "gang-banger" at her school who would be willing to do the job for $10,000.
"I have a GPS on her van, so I know where she is all the time," David Voelkert allegedly wrote in an email message.

"I am going to find someone to take care of her and now it will be easier because I know where she is at all times."
David Voelkert, a video and audio-equipment salesman in South Bend, Ind., was arrested Friday and charged in federal court with illegally installing the GPS device. Officials said he could face more serious charges.
The dopey dad went on to spell out his plan to kill the mother of his children, never once suspecting that the incriminating messages were going straight to her, officials said.
"Once she is gone, I don't have to hide with my kids," David Voelkert wrote, according to court papers.
"I can do what I want and not have to worry about not seeing my family anymore. You should find someone at your school. There should be some gang-bangers there that would put a cap in her ass for $10,000. I am done with her crap!"
David Voelkert asked the "teen" to run away with him after his wife was out of the picture, before signing off the email with a smiley face.

Side note.

In January 2010, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that law enforcement officers could secretly place GPS devices on a person’s car without seeking a warrant from a judge. A request for a full-court, en banc, rehearing was denied in August.

Um, the cops can place a GPS on your car w/o your knowledge?

Is this beginning to sound like a totalitarian future film plot here?

Maybe a bit of "Clear and Present"?

BTW, this guy is several layers of stupid. This is almost on par with a fake Darwin Awards story....

Yeah I thought being in public you had no right to privacy and that was the reasoning behind police putting GPS's on anyone they wanted.

He should just say he knew it was her and she was fucking with him so he returned the favor.

And how is placing a GPS on a vehicle that YOU OWN illegal?

What made him think that the "girl" wouldn't go to the police with this? Also it's funny that he thought she would run away with after he killed his wife.

Just for you.

Not for me. For those people who were not aware of the rest of the story.

If you want to get uppity about it, remove the update.

I could not care less.

Wow, someone took too many of their overly-sensitive pills today.

Sorry, Motion. Didn't mean for it to look like I was being a smart ass.
