They still have one of the toughest schedules around though...and preseason doesn't really count, so I'm not gettin' my hopes up. But hey, if your starters only play 5-10 minutes and the scrubs can win ya the game, then I guess it means you've got some depth?? We've got a few good quarterbacks to help Peete out, and some of our free agents have been impressive (Steve Smith no doubt...all the way down to Eugene Baker on special teams.)

I just hope we can get some respect this year...I mean this is the second straight year we won't be on Monday Night Football...

UPDATE:

5-1 after the Titans DESTROYED us! Knowing the Panthers and their history, we typically lose 2 or more in a row before we start winning, and the Saints looked mighty good yesterday, and we don't have a good record in the SuperDome...

Last time the Patriots went unbeaten in the preseason, they were 2-14 by January. :p

Don't get all worked up... Carolina's scrubs beat Pittsburgh's bums. The Steelers first team looked great. :)

w00t!!!!!! AND GUESS WHO'S GOT TIX TO THE TITANS VS. PANTHERS NEXT WEEK, 40 YARD LINE, 6 ROWS BEHIND THE CAROLINA BENCH!!?!?? YESS!!!!!

and even if our streak gets snapped then, at least I get to see my favorite QB (Steve McNair) play!!!

edit: and yes, I will be the first to admit that the Colts were cheated out of an interception/fumble recovery, but you gotta credit Fox for gettin that red flag out there!!!

Just like the Bucs, Panthers are relying on their defense to compensate for their lack of offense. It'll catch up with them sooner or later.

Glad to see that McNair's your favorite QB, even though you live in Carolina. :) I'm from Nashville - I think that Steve's incredibly underrated. We love him here - he's a true warrior, a great leader, and the best fit for our team. The Titans are definitely no longer "Eddie's Team".

If I happen to run into him by chance, I'll pass along your admiration to him. :)

Ummm... You're comparing them to the reigning Champions, and that's supposed to be a criticism? ;)

I will still never understand why we gave up Stephen Davis to you guys...Oh, well, glad he's working out for you. :)

Can we say "sore loser"? I'm sorry but the last I checked, it takes an offense AND a defense to do well in this league (and a good special team too). And lack of offense? What game were you watching? Surely not the one where our RB's racked up almost 190 yards on ya'll. Maybe you guys ought to take some hints from our defense...

That was made up for when Payton Manning clearly through the ball away yet it was called an incomplete pass. Good game nonetheless. McNair is awesome, let's just hope he is not that awesome next week.

Unc, did you enjoy the game? At least, the Steve McNair part? Must have been a great game to watch live... but a heartbreak for Panthers fans.

I agree. They need to work on their passing game, but otherwise, they've stood tall against some VERY good teams.

Whoops...

Hard to win when all you have are 3 3rd string quarterbacks. A running back and defnse can only carry you so far.
