Hmmm 22x125 is 3.055ghz..... Is anyone taking the jump? I just did!!

1) Intel 2.5A for $276 shipped @ newegg.com
2) Sold my 1.8A for $100 shipped to Dug so my net/net

$176 for 650mhz!!

Any opinions on probability getting 3.3 with this lol 'crippled' Intel chip?

+ 176 bones (sold my 1.8a for 100 bones) =

Program or app? Hahaha....I use my computer to run benchmarks silly man, isn't that what computers are for? :p All kidding aside, your not a silly man for asking...I am ramping up my box to support a 9700 pro...which will need a fast cpu to 'stretch' its legs in games so I can run 1600x1200x32 @ 85hz with 8x FSAA and 60fps

guys...listen...if succesful, I can still sell my retail P4 1.8a w/mcx 478 and 60mm Delta....If I get 100 bucks for that, my net/net cost to grab 900 additional mhz is $250....?????? why u guys giving me the dollars symbols for...u think this is an elaborate and foolish/expensive upgrade when cards like the 9700pro is going to shift the system 'bottleneck' back to the cpu for the first time in 3 years or more?

BOTTOM LINE: DO YOU GUYS THINK THE CHIP WITH EXCELLENT COOLING CAN HIT 3.3?

EDIT: And foolish for you too, IF you don't get a good O/C. But then you will upgrade your MB get better RAM and a later-stepping P4 and eventually get it. ;) No worries, it's only money . . . what price can you put on a successful O/C?

you have an mcx with a 60 mm fan? whats the point? ;):p:D

how fast does your current setup OC to?

EDIT: just looked, might be willing to take that off your hands for $100.

Whoa!! I just forgot...Its an 80mm 6k rpm 80 cfm fan from delta....well...that solves that (haven't peeked in my box for a while) So I would just have to buy the new chip and sell my old one...hmmmm

Ok...I did it...I bought it from Newegg (who had it in stock) for $276 dlvd instead of atacom who would not have it till next week sometime. Now who wants to buy my retail P4 1.8a that does 2.4a+?

Ok 1.8 is sold for 100 so my net/net dammage is $167. Considering if my max FSB only can get to 124....thats still 3.1 ghz guys...I'm stoked!!!

this is a good question and as such deserves an answer.

also thank you for all the help/advice that you gave me once upon a time;)

i'd love to have a cpu reach at least 3 gigs without stability issues and if it helps

remember this i spent 600.00 on less lol to each his own

so now that you have taken the"bull by the horns"
