I found another fix for this and it seems to be a more simpler one. I can certify this one.
Once you get this msg and if you have MMC installed, just reinstall either the new ATI DVD 4.1 or the original DVD found on the CD and then immidiately do a repair by re-installing the MMC. That should fix it in most cases.
I'll be applying the new vfw fix without re-formatting win2k this week. and report back with results. If all goes well you'll have to give Maetryx the credit for this one.
