PSU - OK
Memory - I prefer Crucial
CPU - looks good to me
HDD - good
Case - Antec or Lian Li are what I have worked with and like them
Optical Drive(s) - you have two that do the same thing; do you need two dvd burners?

The rest am not familiar with. Sorry no help there.

ok after looking at the WD's here is my question

Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JD 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM 3year warranty, features flexpower seccure connect, price $99.99 US

whats the diff

Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500SD 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
5 year warranty, in features it says that its built for a 24/7 heavy load environment. every other statistic is exactly the same, price $105.00 US

of course im gonna go with the extra couple of years warranty, and i would prefer my machine to be able to handle LONG hours of use (i still play EQ/EQ2/WOW, and will continue to purchase games such as Huxley, and SUN.

i would like some more feedback here, is the transfer rate between these WD's and the Baracuda's i picked out noticeable? and are there pros and cons other than "i like WD better becasue Seagate sucks" and other than "I like Seagate better because WD sucks" hehehe

also whats diff between the mem i picked and Crucial? does crucial last longer? have a better warranty? or have better CS representatives? hehe i want to know that what i buy will last till im ready to throw it away, or at least if NOT that i can get replacements in a timely, efficient, and polite manner.
thanks again

I wouldn't put too much stake into the availability of the 6800GS in the future. IIRC, one 7800GT is better than two 6800GS cards in SLI, so I'd get a cheaper non-SLI motherboard and upgrade the video card later.

Question on the sound card: do you really need the Platinum version? An OEM Audigy 2 is $67 on NewEgg, and even the retail X-Fi is $112.

on the video card i just cant afford to jump another 100 dollars. i really cant afford to do the one i chose, HOWEVER its possible that by the time i can afford to get this peice, which i am waiting to get last, that the 7800 gt, or gtx might be within my price range. right now though, its just not in the budget, 1500 bucks is the cut off =)

upon futher review i concur that that might not be the best solution for sound.

what would you suggest for me here? i have no digital speakers, but i primarily use headphones. my 5.1 speakers are creative labs, and are fairly old. as i understand it headphones you can only use directional emulation.

the reason that i origionally wanted the platinum version was to be able to hook my bass guitar, mixing station, and keyboard into it, and on reviewing the input capabilities i would be unable to do so.

should i just go with an oem version of the card and try to find myself a 3rd party interface for my instruments?

Actually, I meant get the 6800GS now and upgrade to a single, better card later on instead of adding another 6800GS for SLI. I hear you on waiting for prices to drop: hopefully the upcoming releases from nVidia and ATI will help both of us.

For the sound card, I'd get the OEM Audigy2 and spend the money saved on that (and a cheaper motherboard) and get a professional audio card. I wish I could recommend something but I don't know anything about them.

yea i may even hold off on the sound card all together, i think i might 86 that case selection too and just use my current case. just will have to possibly drill some holes for 120mm's. will save me 280 bucks totall just cutting out those two things, and i can drop that into a diego CPU and a better Vid card.

right now im trying to make sure i end up with the right MoBo, i wanna make sure i get 2 16x PCIe's and not 1 PCIe at 16x and 2 at 8x. I want to make sure that im getting full use of SLI when i eventually get a second card.

just a quick comparison here for my info's SLI or Crossfire?(or the Radeon equiv of SLI, whatever it is) which would you all choose?
