Update on my Speed Dating Night

Well it was a long night...25 guys and 25 women in a room and you actually talk to all of them. It went longer than expected and it was exhausting from talking so much. There was some good looking ladies there as well as some whom I was not interested in at all. You wear a name tag with a made up name and you and the ladies talk for about 5 min total, if you are interested in them you circle/tick of their name on the sheet and if its mutual, the organization who hosts this sends out an email to each party. There is no personal info swapped at the event. My friend came with me and he was freaked out by one women who he thought was a man. I must admit she had manly features as well as the voice. I bet she could handle herself well in a bar, picture a Russian weightlifter...thats all I need to say. LOL I would recommend this over any internet dating sites as the people there are on the same page with the same agenda whereas online it is full of games. One thing I didnt like was at the end you have selected so many women that you forget the faces afterward and since the names are made up, its hard to relate to them. One other item is that when you make up a name, make sure it stands out and can be easily associated to you. The women there or most of them were talking notes on separate pieces of paper and keeping that since you had to turn in all the paper that they gave you so you had no idea afterwards whom you selected.
Overall it was a great experience and I will do it again if nothing comes out if this event. Just waiting for the emails now, I hope.

The results of my matches came back and I have 4 pending dates...2 I can remember how they looked, the other 2 I cant. Luckily the last lady I saw was on the match list so I can recall everything about her and one other lady was also Asian-very nice looking to but I am having trouble with the other 2. I called my friend to and he will find out how his went as he is not home.

You talked to the dudes too ?

:Q

No, the ladies stay seated and the guys rotate and sit in front of each lady and move on,,,all the tables were numbered so no one was missed.

BTW ...

How was that setup?

A restaurant sponsored?
Did you have to pay $?
How did you find out aout it?
Did you have to register before hand?

Sorry, just wanted to know cause I was thinking
of setting up something like that around here as a side project to something.

If you're desperate enough that you resort to speed dating, why limit yourself to one sex? 😉

Dude, this is not desperation, its a new adventure...you chicken to open yourself up to new possibilities..

It was in a community hall put on by the local singles club branch. It was pre registration and it coste $25. There served wine to @ $5 glass. One lady I talked with last night said they do this at an upsacle restuarant to which costs $45 with a drink and appys...I may try that one next. Typically its casual dress to.

for some reason whenever those show up here its all for 40+yr olds...i think it would be way more appealing to 20-30r old. good for you though, make sure to get us pics whenever those emails start rolling in 😉

how dissapointing would it be though...25 women and none of them emailed you....ouch..😛

That's sexist.

Yes. Why were the ladies seated? Why not the men, and let the ladies move around?

Married my wife, whome I met at match.com. Here's the big :middle finger) smiley for you and your comment bashing me indirectly.

Noth of these services sere the same purpose. Your sick of all the BS that goes on at bars, etc. I wanted to meet a "professional" person. You get to pick and choose using services. I'm an engineer who married a teacher. Couldn't be happier.

Because then someone could claim it's sexist aswell. You just can't win.

The bad thing is the OP did this at a retirement home.

Next time it's being hosted at the school for the deaf and blind.....
