UPDATE on my kitchen countertops... With PICS.

A few weeks ago, I posted this thread about getting Corian countertops.

Well, one thing led to another, as it always seems to do in home improvement, and we ended up remodeling the kitchen and dining room.

Including...
  • Replaced the countertops with Corian
  • Installed Pergo flooring
  • Painted the walls
  • Sanded and painted the cabinets
  • Installed all new hardware on the cabinets
  • Installed an over-the-range microwave
  • Tossed the mini-blinds and hung curtains
Old kitchen
New kitchen

There was a small debate as to the quality of the Corian countertops... I have nothing but praise for them. Great looking, easy to clean, sturdy, seamless... I'm not sure what more I could want (well, except maybe a smaller price tag! :Q )

😉

Wow, looks very nice! My gf and I are buying an apartment, and one of the first projects I have slated after repainting is to remodel the kitchen. I'm glad to hear that Corian is praiseworthy, I was just starting to look into it. I really like that faucet fixture too, could you give me a manufacturer/model number?

It's a Delta 174-SSWF.

We ended up doing everything in brushed stainless steel... Faucet, hardware, paper towel holder, etc. Too bad that we couldn't afford new stainless steel major appliances, too. Oh well, maybe next year. 😉

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking to start by replacing cabinets/countertops/fixtures, then move on to appliances (although the place we're waiting on approval from the coop board has a fridge with no icemaker :|). I'm definitely going SS with new fixtures & appliances. 😀

nice kitchen!

i appreciate your posting the pics as my wife and I will be painting our cabinets soon... plus i will probably replace the countertops and sink this summer.
